COVID-19: How Scientists in School is Responding

Back To Blog

NOTE: This update was written in March 2020. Scientists in School has since launched a new stream of highly-engaging, hands-on VIRTUAL workshops for classroom and community settings. Visit our Workshops page to view our topics, or click here to book. Thank you for supporting Scientists in School, a charity, during this difficult time.

Dear Friends of Scientists in School,

Scientists in School is a charity that is built on human-to-human connections. We are passionate about STEM education and love seeing all the young scientists exploring and discovering in our classroom and community visits.

With the recent school closures and community event cancellations due to COVID-19, we have made the informed decision to close our offices and halt all in-person meetings. We have no idea how long this will last but we will be reviewing this position on a daily basis, and looking to Public Health in both provinces where we operate for their best advice.

While our physical offices are closed, please reach out to us by email or phone.

Like you, we are hoping that all of the efforts to stop the spread of this virus are effective, so that we can get back to what we do best – enriching children’s lives through STEM education. If you have a workshop booked during the school closures, we will do our best to reschedule once schools are open again. If you wish to submit a booking for an upcoming date, you can do so online and a presenter will be in touch once schools open. And if you wish to make a donation, know that it will make an important difference during this difficult time.

At this time, I encourage you to take care of yourselves and those around you. Do not hesitate to be in touch, if you have questions, concerns or suggestions. Take good care.

Cindy Adams
Executive Director
